Our main goal is to have goat's milk. We use goat's milk for so many reasons in our dog program. We make & sell goat milk soap. We sell goat's milk (for animal consumption). In our research we learned that different breeds have different percentages and quantities of butterfat, protein, and volume. We also learned that within those breeds there are different bloodlines that have different percentages and quantities as well. We chose Mini Nubians because they produce a high percentage of butterfat, a volume close to a standard size goat, but a smaller more manageable size. We will be milk testing to have and create the strongest milk lines. We only want the best of the best! Having said that, we have fallen in love with standard LaMancha goats as well. We have a few of them as well. They are also high on the list with butterfat. They also give a large volume. Our LaManchas are very laid back and that makes them manageable for me as well. All of our goats are registered and come from performance farms. We will also be a performance farm. Milk testing will keep us in line with our goals. In order to have milk, we will be breeding these amazing animals. In turn, we will have available goat kids in the spring & summer. We will also have adult goats available from time to time.
The Mini-Nubian is a mid-sized goat being of mixed Nigerian Dwarf and Nubian origin. It is known for being a graceful and elegant. These are ideal milking goats because they are a smaller sized goat that are bred to be great milkers. They actually have a higher percentage of protein and butter fat than LaManchas. They are smaller therefore producing a smaller quantity. Mini Nubian Goats are known for having long, floppy ears that are adorable. All of our Mini Nubians are registered with Miniature Dairy Goat Association (MDGA).
The LaMancha dairy goat is born with its unique small ears. In fact, that is the distinguishing feature of this breed. The LaMancha also has a very positive disposition It is inquisitive and loveable, easygoing and cooperative. The breed has excellent dairy temperament and is an all-around sturdy. The LaMancha is a dependable dairy goat, producing quality milk with high butterfat and protein over a long period of time. All of our LaManchas are registered with American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA).
